Four composers from the University of Missouri School of Music have composed works inspired by the variety of activities taking place at the Cortex Innovation Community. They used the project as an opportunity to stretch their creative thinking, experiment with musical materials and situations, and even partner with engineers to construct custom-built instruments. They’ll discuss their research, creative process, and how they translated the energy they found during their visits to Cortex into groundbreaking new music that will be premiered in the 4240 building on Saturday, April 29th.
