Bootstrapping a Lunar Industrial Base | St. Louis Space Frontier @ Venture Cafe Thursday Gathering (James Crutchfield) | St. Louis | Missouri | United States

An earlier presentation at Venture Cafe’ described lunar resources and materials. This one builds on that with discussion of the tools and products that could be made from those resources to construct a self supporting and expanding lunar base. Ultimately, the base would no longer be dependent on Earth and it would grow until more bases are constructed, railways cross the Moon to connect bases and mines, solar power plants are built around the Moon with power grids to supply power constantly, and mass drivers are launching materials into space for construction of space colonies and solar power satellites. The actual intricacies of doing all this would take a team of experts and hours to describe it all. We will just touch on some of the high points. The discussion will be led by lunar mining expert, David Dietzler.
