People who work in education focus on helping students and making sure they’re engaged. When you become a supervisor, it can be hard to make the adjustment to focusing on your team and worrying about THEIR engagement. Unfortunately, most supervisors receive little or no training on how to supervise, on how to develop leadership skills, or in understanding the impact they have on the entire organization – including the students. The good news is that using a strengths-based approach can improve both your ability to lead and maximize your team, and ultimately benefit the students you serve.
