Hey, want to help us crowdsource the Venture Cafe vibe??? We have two ways that is super fun and super easy.

  1. Add music to the Spotify playlist. We let music play during the session and it’s there to cover any awkward silence. Let’s make music together.
  2. Bring an item to add to our shelving behind the bar. Do you have a retro computer monitor you no longer want? Maybe some beakers or other science glass. What about an abacus? A 3D-printed creation? Help us put bits-o-innovation on display in the space.

This week at The Venture Café (4240 Duncan Ave, Ste 200, St. Louis, MO 63110) you will engage both sides of your brain. When we talk about innovation, we focus on improving the human condition and driving people to begin conversations with the following five words: In what ways can we…

If you want to put that to the test, then come to The Venture Café this Thursday between 3:00PM and 8:00PM for a great collection of people and topics that will fuel serendipitous collisions. On the docket this week, we’ll explore:

  • In what ways can we…learn from others in a similar position? The iSelect Fund is spotlighting a startup so others can learn from travels on a familiar road. They’ll be in the James Crutchfield Room from 3:30 to 4:00.
  • In what ways can we…visually communicate an idea using a whiteboard and a few markers? Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an artist. In fact, it is probably better if you are not. The team from Kendeo will work their magic in the Havana Room from 4:00 to 5:00.
  • In what ways can we…figure out what part of a business is DIY (do-it-yourself) and where you might need to bring in extra brains? Guess what, we’ll use a whiteboard to answer this question. RSVP to secure your spot in the Havana Room from 5:30 to 6:30 and learn from the brilliant brains from AEGIS.
  • In what ways can we…whittle down a brilliant idea to the point that it fits inside a very specific container? A haiku-shaped container. Aimee Muirnin Dunne is doing two quick sessions for non-poets in the James Crutchfield Room from 5:30 to 6:00 and 6:30 to 7:00.
  • In what ways can we…get more women involved in coding? Nothing more to add. This is a question that really needs to be answered! Coder_Girl will be in the house for an info blitz in the Big George Brown Room between 6:00 and 6:30.
  • In what ways can we…encourage people to explore the light bulb moments that seem to take place every day? They don’t need to start a full-fledged business, but exploring is important. BALSA Foundation will staff an Info Table where you can learn about the Entrepreneur’s Roadmap.
  • In what ways can we…increase the level of innovation in education? The EdSurge Summit is taking place in STL this weekend and we thinks that’s awesome. Stop by the Info Table to learn about the summit and ways to get involved.

Each week we curate meaningful content for the innovation community. It’s not simply about startups as much as it is about the right people in the right place having the right conversation that lead to an amazing new reality. Join us this Thursday between 3:00PM and 8:00PM to be part of the excitement.
